* 6:00 pm There will be a Public Hearing tonight to take public comment regarding establishing a proposed new zoning district called the "Equestrian Village District". This zone change and a modification to the current White Oak Development Agreement is being proposed to allow establishment of a mixed use "village" at the Pea Ridge exit rather than a single large hotel as previously planned (hotel size would diminish under the "village" concept).
The normal Commissioner's Mtg. will follow the hearings and the Agenda includes scheduling public hearings on Dec. 7 regarding proposed changes to Transportation fares; a request by SCORE for $3000. of Economic Development funds; to consider Economic Development Director Williamson's contract and a public hearing regarding a Consolidated Human Services Agency.
Dave Odom of Odom Engineering will recommend next steps on the "upgrades" to the Lake Adger dam.
Odom will also present the proposed Hwy 9 waterlines and pump station location and estimates. (no details given on this item)
Resolution endorsing the application for a comprehensive bicycle and pedestrian planning grant by the towns of Tryon and Columbus. Jerry Stensland
Polk Fresh Foods progress report.
Williamson will discuss a resolution for "reframing" the ETDC.
At Ray Gasperson's request, the Water Issues report prepared for Protect Polk Water by McGill Associates has been placed on the agenda.
The state is now requiring all expenditures on economic development be presented in a public hearing, including the Director's salary. Your chance to attend the hearing and speak up.
