FINALLY the Tryon Daily Bulletin is giving this issue some real coverage - hallelujah!
ICWD running our county water system (as they do now) is not necessarily a bad thing, but this is a highly important and rather one-sided contract. Not to mention that the quicker they can build out our water infrastructure the quicker they (the developers) can start "growing" polk county. Outside developers are like sharks when there's blood in the water - when they see the next big growth area/opportunities for profit they'll come running. The growth here is GOING to happen regardless, but let's not speed it up. We need good input from experts in water rights/water contracts to make sure we are not making a big mistake with no chance for a "do-over". Let's bring in some experts to advise us on this one!
