Reprinted from "Tryon Horse Country News" newsletter:
Have you written your letters to Duke Energy expressing your (pick one: displeasure, concern, outrage, misgivings, etc.) about their plans to run transmission towers right through our Horse Country? Have you made your phone calls to the Utility Commission members? Have you signed the petition? Have you checked the Foothills Preservation Alliance website often for updates? And still, after all this are you wanting to do more?
How about a good ole Flash Mob-style protest? Picture hundreds of people sharing their love of the foothills and their outrage at "the plan." Organizers say please wear neon green t-shirts (available at Freds or Tractor Supply) for visibility on drone video footage. When?
TOMORROW, Friday, August 7th at 6:30 at Gowensville Community Center to inform and organize area residents opposed to the Duke Energy Foothills Project. For location info, go to Facebook and Private Message Anita Williamson.
